Following on from my last post about the red dress, these striking new images were taken whilst travelling in Australia a few months ago! I don’t think I could have worked at a better location for this, it was so amazing and surreal – the rolling white Lancelin sand dunes – with the talented Rebecca Knowles Photography, and her hubby Jamie assisting.
After parking the car and walking down a dusty bush track, the path then opened out to reveal this incredible landscape – hillsides of whiteness under a luminous blue sky! What a sight!
It reminded me of the surreal opening scenes of the movie The Cell… where the characters stroll along winding desert peaks in the deep layers of their mind.
The space just seemed so vast, it was like finding yourself in an alternate reality. The sun ahead was hot and climbing to the top of the dunes took quite a while through the soft sand under our feet. But it was such a stunning backdrop to work in, I loved swirling the fabric around me in the breeze, painting the white & blue horizon with intense red!
Check out the vibrant, dream-like imagery we captured. I think without doubt they will go on to grace some beautiful book covers to add to Rebecca’s print collection.
