It was such a gorgeous frosty morning today, the mist over the fields looked stunning as I drove to my shoot in High Wycombe, and the sunshine brightened up the day so much. The wintertime after Christmas often seems so dreary so it is nice to see it being at pretty as the pre-Christmas autumn days… which is when these beautiful shots were taken, with the lovely Karen Jones (who I am working with again tomorrow!) I did my hair & make-up and we used a mix of both our outfits and accessories to style the looks. The 4th shot down is my favourite cuz I love the crystalised frosty grass with my pale delicate outfit. The breeze was chilly indeed but the furry coat kept me nice and warm 🙂
I’ve got a pretty busy week this week, I had a tutorial and studio day at LightSpot Studio in Hackney on Sunday, then back in London on Monday working at Adrian Pini’s Brent Cross studio (which I discovered is only an hour away from me in the car, awesome). Today’s shoot saw the time experimenting with interesting light effects, tomorrow I’m at Chesham’s WhiteSpaceStudios planning to do lots of swirling around in my new isis wings, then off to my massage course in the evening, then Thursday I’m making my way to the north of England for shoots Fri-Mon around Sheffield and Manchester, including 2 full days at Hallam Mill which I am really excited about as it looks like it has superb natural light and wonderful textures to work with. I’m also in the middle of putting together trips to Hull, York & Whitby (mid March) and to Holland (late March). Hoping I can keep up with all my emails as well as getting time to eat, sleep, shower and if I’m lucky possibly have some chill time! 🙂 But glad to be busy as I think it makes you appreciate your free time even more, and I’m happy to be able to save up money towards seeing some more of this beautiful planet this year.
I was putting some of my favourites quotes in frames around my house recently, phrases and words that motivate me to get the most out of my time and my life, and remind me of what is important to me. I find some quotes have great meaning but can be overused and lose their impact, some have more power at different stages in your life, and some are poignant forever. This is one I’ve got at my desk that always gives me a kick up the bum and an extra rush of blood to the heart…
