Blood From Stone

Something a bit different here from Chris Bulezuik, a brilliant photographer I went to work with down in Brighton. His bread and butter is commercial portrait, hair and beauty photography but for his personal work he likes to go deeper, with experimental photographic techniques and thoughtful absorption. We spent a lot of time talking, going through his journey so far with this project, shooting, reviewing, discussing and really truly looking at the results, even printing them out before continuing. It’s so rewarding and stimulating when people that book me take this time, to collaborate, find meaning, explore ideas, get swept away, it adds such value and food for thought on a long-term, creative project.
We created these delights of cold, fascinating texture on writhing, anonymous, emotive flesh. The added magic of these images is that the whole process was done in camera.
