Thanks for checking back, it’s been a while since an update from me, as I’ve been pretty busy both with work and down time. I was recently travelling around the North of England visiting friends and family, as well as my modelling. I toured around the Manchester area working with some great photographers at Body Couture in Congleton, Tally Ho in Wigan and Hallam Mill in Stockport, and modelled in some interesting locations including a wonderful antique store (will get to post some results from that soon).
I then made the picturesque drive up to the Lake District to visit the home of my good friend Madame Bink, for 3 days of peaceful retreat in the beautiful surroundings, walking around sky reflecting lakes, taking photos, time to read, sleep, think, recharge and be still. Definately need to go back there, and for longer…
Then across to Hull… I stayed with another friend in Beverley, and had location shoots by the rivers and forrests north of there in some beautiful weather, as well as visiting The Deep – an amazing aquarium I’ve been to years ago, which was wonderful to look around again, sitting close to the huge glass walls feeling like I was inside with all the weird, scary and amazing sea creatures!
I finished my trip with a great stay in my hometown Leicester for the bank holiday weekend, spending time with family in the sun, including a barge party with girlfriends on the canals of Foxton Locks…we hired one when my friend turned 18 and this was 10 years later (though can’t say I was any better at steering it, zigzagging it down the waterway and getting engulfed in lots of tree!) It was much fun getting tipsy in the daytime sun, eating party food and occassionally getting stuck, which was of course quite a giggle as we tried to push ourselves off, glasses of pimms in hand 🙂
Back home I got the train in London for a quick portfolio update at my agency, and then a little look around Portabello Road in search for some new jewellery for modelling as I fancied an update on some bold, interesting necklaces for portraits, so many pretty and facinating things to look at! I also had a day around beautiful Oxford, shooting at Studio Blanco then using the lovely buildings in the centre and rivers near Christchurch for backdrops. The weekend was filled with working for the Disabled Photographers Society AGM, where it was lovely to see familiar faces as well as new ones – extremely fun group of people! A workshop at MWM in Wokingham on Monday evening saw me modelling in amazing pattered projections, from rose petals ‘dresses’ to tiger stripes! Check out these golden leafy ones, taken by Stephen Thomas…
Today I’m sorting out things at home, washing, cleaning, sending packages and packing for a flight to Ireland this evening, for 2 days working in Dublin. As well as replying to emails and organising varying trips around the UK and abroad for upcoming months, I’m trying to sort out some blogs to post whilst I’m away so I can share more of the beautiful new work here, as well as results from last year too! Check back soon 🙂
