Here are the individual images shot by Stefano Brunesci after the photo session with Madame Bink from my last entry. Really really love them. Which to add to my portfolio? Hair & make-up is by me too!
Stefano did a really great thing by just getting me to move and move and move, fast and expressive and without thinking too much, encouraging me along the way and just not letting me stop. It was quite intense but a really good method to liberate and loosen up a bit more. It shows it can be very productive sometimes to fire away, rather than holding poses and expressions for a few seconds each whilst photographer composes and focuses carefully etc (though obviously machine-gunning it for hours is going a bit OTT!) But to just go ‘bang-bang-bang’ for a while and be free to move makes it more spontaneous, emotions and body language more fresh and fiery.
Lately I’ve also been trying out something I heard Tyra Banks advise (another thing from ANTM!) which is breathing in or out for each shot rather than holding my breath. I do often hold my breath especially for art nude poses where I’m tensing or stretching muscles and elongating myself, but maybe keeping my breath in constant flow will help add more spirit and feeling to figure shots. Now to perfect that without looking like I’m do some kind of odd tantric yoga or having an asthma attack.
Hope everyone is having a nice week 🙂 I’m definately having a good one, including my old university friend visiting me from Devon and having a day out at the museums in Oxford, driving to shoots in my new car in Birmingham, Chesham, Guildford & Northampton (and was given some amazing raspberry-coloured cake from the photographer whose wife is a professional cake-maker, and some fresh eggs from his chickens which I used last night to make pancakes!)
This evening I’m off to have another attempt at Zumba with Ella Rose which will be fun, and tomorrow I’m driving back to Leicester to visit my family and see The Muppets movie with my sis and brother in law!
Then I have a local model day in Aylesbury on Saturday – at Immortal Eye Studio (currently still 2 hours left if anyone’s interested). I also have 1 more hour left at my model day at the new FilmPhotoStudio in Cheltenham on 10th March, and am finalising plans for my working trips coming up – to Gloucester & Wiltshire, Northwest & Scotland… see the ‘Travel in 2012’ header above for dates and get in touch to snatch the remaining availabilities!
Lots of exciting things going on and lots to sort out but I’m happy to be busy. As always if you’re a photographer interested to work with me, feel free to ping me an email to ask about potential shoots, I will be happy to answer any questions or advise on studios, locations, ideas etc if needed. It’s pretty easy for me to get to any of these places and I don’t charge travel on top of my rates: London, Chesham, Oxford, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Leicester, Birmingham, Cheltenham, Reading, Basingstoke etc. If you are further away then just send me a message and I can arrange to be in your area some time over the next few months 🙂 Thank you!
