It’s 2am and I just did a quick shoot with photographer David Salisbury who lives in my village, for Worldwide Moment – a photography project encouraging people around the world to celebrate peace and international collaboration by taking simultaneous photographs and sharing their stories. The moment was Wednesday September 9, 2009 at 9:09AM in the +09GMT time zone, or ‘09.09.09+09GMT@09:09’… so that was 1.09am here in the UK. Whilst waiting on my street for David to pick me up, the air was so still and silent, the dark night sky above and streetlamps lighting the lonely streets, as everybody slept tucked up in their houses, but to think hundreds of people in other places were getting ready to take their pictures too! As the moment began David took a set of 9 images with his polaroid camera and some black & white film images too. Will post them up when they’re scanned *EDIT – see below!*
There’s a gallery on the website showing people’s submissions already from around the globe… www.worldwidemoment.org
