Hey everyone! I have had a fun and busy couple of weeks, working with a LOT of photographers on some really cool shots! I had a couple of days working in Cambridge including a model day at The Works Studio in Croxten, then a model day at my local place KV Media in Chesham. This past week I was in London almost everyday, working for 2 model days at Adrian Pini’s studio, as well as an agency job, an exciting casting and a really cool green-screen video shoot for a film. One morning saw me start the day dressed in period costume as a pale-skinned queen and finish as a colourful ‘kawaii’ doll! Then another enjoyable model day, this time at Eye for an Image studio in Banbury rounded off the working week! 🙂
Loads of my photographers have been so creative recently, armed with their own outfits, MUAs, props and accessories. I’ve twirled and twisted and posed and pouted, gone from geek to glamour and matrix monster to gothic gaga. You should check out some of the wall pictures on my facebook page!
It’s a nice treat to have people put the thought in, as I spend a lot of money, and time planning out various outfits and bits for my modelling wardrobe, but occassionally it can feel a bit of a pressure to keep buying new things (I’m not actually a stylist afterall) so I think it’s super cool when photographers go the extra mile to book make-up artists or hair stylists [love them] or even bring just one interesting item that will make their shot new and unique 😀
In the spare time where I’m not trying to keep up with emails, follow-up messages, feedback, references, packing and unpacking bags; I’ve had my yoga classes, done some massage treatments on my friends, visited my family back up in Leicester and yesterday went to the Complimentary Natural Therapy Show in Earls Court to get more info on further courses, try lots of healthy drinks and foods, and stocked up on some wonderful organic beauty and massage products – absolute luscious heaven! 🙂
This week is a bit more chilled which I’m thankful for; I have one of my own photoshoots, and some free days so I can get back on top of things, do some long-awaited editing, and some well-needed autumn shopping! This is my fave part of the year, as much as I love the light breezy summer days, my heart would be lost without the sparkle and fun of this season to which I feel I belong… aside from groggily getting used the the gloomy mornings, there’s just a magic in the atmosphere and so much to look forward to. Getting my outfits sorted for halloween parties, fireworks night and my birthday in November, then the joyous & twinkling run up to Christmas, as well as X-factor shows on TV which I’m a sucker for. I’m pretty much in a constant state of butterflies over something – it’s just exciting innit?! 😛
I’ve got some great work in the diary for the next few months and into 2013; new workshops, new locations, hair shoots, and planning some more themed studio days – lots to keep me occupied and inspired, as well as filling in the rest of my availability. Really must sort out some more location fashion shoots also to make the most of the autumnal colours and crisp clear or misty days, so if you’re looking to work with me soon please send me an email to arrange something, and look out for model days and forum castings! 😉
Anyway, here’s what you really want – some cute candy pin-up pictures! ♥ Who thinks I should do more Pin-Up??…Me!! I love this style 😀 I’m thinking I will sort a themed model day like this some time to specialise in that retro, cute, cheeky / 50’s poster look – lots of colour, bright make-up and cartoony faces. I’d been wanting to do this styling for ages after buying that big red bow on eBay and the swirly lolly from the sweet shop – and Phil Marley made it happen for me, shooting it at one of my previous visits to Eye for an Image with their lovely colourful backgrounds… I love the bright light and polished look 😀
