Last year via a photoshoot I was kindly given some samples to try from a friend of the photographer, owner of organic beauty brand Bare Skin Beauty. I was very impressed with their products and brilliant ethics, which their website explains with super positivity, detail and passion. I was recently running out of moisturiser and wanted to try something new, so had a good look through their shop and decided to order the Sensitive Skin Starter Set, and thought I’d do a little review here, as quite a few models reading may be interested at least.
The pack includes a Clarifying Cleansing Creme, Antioxidant Firming Toner, Blissful Youth Creme and Illuminating Eye Serum, as well as a handmade, organic bamboo face pad (a nice soft, but gently exfoliating cloth great for using the cleanser with) There’s a set for Normal and Oily skin too. What really strikes me especially is how whipped and soft the creams and cleansers are – they just feel SO fresh and kind on the skin. They smell wonderful as well, with ingredients like Shea Butter, Rose Oil, Honey, Frankincence, Neroli, Acia… yummy or what?! It’s classed as edible ‘Skinfood’, since the ingredients are all raw and nutrient rich, packed with vitamins to brighten, plump and repair, and it really feels like you’re feeding your skin with a delightful soufflé of pampering. After using the regime about a week now, and taking particular time applying it well at night, I have woken up each morning and my skin looks noticely clear, even and healthy – no shadows under the eyes, no redness, puffiness or dryness. Perfect!!
I think the Youth Creme will last me a few weeks, and then I will order the larger pot, since my skin seems to love it, but the Eye Serum especially is going to last me a long time, which is great for a tester pack.
I also bought the Serenity Massage Oil, since I’m trained in Holistic Massage and trade massages every now and again with my course friend for practise. I found the texture of the oil ideal for massage since it absorbes nicely without being too slippy, and has a really relaxing, therapetic aroma without being too overpowering.
The other item I can personally recommend (one originally given to me to try) is the Radiance Restored Face Serum – which is a fab S.O.S for dull/tired skin. I use it 2/3 nights a week or when I need a super boost of moisture before/after a long day shooting, and it’s lasted for ages since a little goes such a long way.
Of course as a model needing to keep my skin clear and photo-ready, and also as a women just trying to look and feel my most beautiful – nourishing my body & skin for the long term is really important to me, and equally of interest is spending my money on the right brands that care for the environment. Like lots of people I’m becoming more and more aware of the importance of aiming for green living in as many areas of life as I can, and keeping a good balance of wellbeing. I’ve tried some lovely natural products over the last few years, but I gotta say I’ve really been won over by the freshness, quality and transparent honesty of Bare Skin Beauty – giving the information in a clear, friendly way without the products being unnecessarily expensive. Anyone that’s also interested in natural, organic skincare – take a look! Definitely recommended!! 🙂
